Board Up Miami 2007  March 7-10, 2007 Board Up Miami was created in order to grow the fastest growing action sport of wakeboarding. In an industry with more than $90 billion in annual spending, you need to get ready for the coolest, hippest event Miami has ever seen. The Board Up Miami event will be Miami’s first Premier Pro-Am Wakeboard Championship, which will feature a music festival featuring DJ Irie, Atomic Tangerine, The Linx, The Spam AllStars, and DJ Jazzy Jeff, and a wakeboard tournament featuring some of the world's best wakeboarders competiting for over $17,000 in cash prizes and the $10,000 first prize. Steel Lafferty to compete at Board Up Miami 2007
Steel Lafferty, last year's 13 and under Board Up Miami Champion has signed up to compete in this year's Board Up Miami which consists of the IWSF Pan Am Region Wakeboard Championships on March 7-9 and Board Up Miami, the pro am wakeboard music festival on March 10.
Lafferty was recently picked up by Nike's newest brand, the extreme sports 6.0 brand. Lafferty will be ready to showcase his hard work after a whole year of training at the Lavelle Train Station, Dean Lavelle's wakeboard school.
